As I've said, the island is the main one, but it is still only 32k in circumference - one hour on the bus. We have travelled all around the island and there's not much here - just 7,000 people, coconut trees, mountains and the usual tourist trappings (hotels, car hire, shops, restaurants). Wednesday 11th February - Day 29 - At Sea The weather conditions overnight had remained the same and the sea had only a very slight swell to it - very pleasant sailing conditions. Although the ship had a number of lectures programmed throughout the day, none of them were of any interest to us e.g. we had a well known TV personality traveling on the ship with us, who was giving a talk in the morning about her role in one of the USA ...

Dinner this evening was once again in the Bistro with a group of 4 other people, before going to the show, which this evening was a compilation of the two lead singers from the Princess shows doing a 30 minute performance followed by the comedian we had seen previously, Dave Burke, who once again had the audience in stitches.

We've managed to talk ourselves into daily exercise, that's apart from up and down several flights of stairs several times a day, and did our 7 and a bit laps which equates to about 4 kms we think. After an aborted attempt at sending emails in the morning we finally managed a reasonable connection in the afternoon so got that first epistle sent along with our birthday wishes to Colin, and ...

Hoe dan ook, de volgende ochtend had ik een mooie kater. Een duik in het zwembad hielp niet en ik had ook echt niets te eten meer in huis. Dus ik moest de stad wel in. Op een bank heb ik wat droge crackers en cola naar binnen weten te krijgen en langzaam begon ik me beter te voelen.
Terug in het hostel bleek een groepje van drie Duitse jongens met hetzelfde vliegtuig te vertrekken als ik. Zij hadden een stapeltje dvd's gehuurd en aangezien het buiten ...

... ik hier nog een paar dagen blijven kon, alles hier is zoveel
mooier, rustiger... voelt zoveel beter dan op Raro.
Maar aan het eind van de dag moest ik dan toch echt mijn spullen weer in de jeep laden en bracht misses Tom mij weer naar het vliegveld. Ze heeft me nog op een biertje getrakteerd, maar toen was het toch echt tijd om de trap weer op te gaan, het vliegtuig in.

Dag dag mooi Aitutaki! Als ik ooit de kans krijg, kom ik zeker terug!!
