One year on, its time to hit the road again. This time, I'm taking off in a different direction. Its going to be longer and a little more challenging, but with luck, I should do well.

I was in these parts 25 years ago ! It was a special trip , as it was my first ever solo trip as a tourist. I didn't have a ride in those days and so it was a bussing, hitchhiking, walking, flying, ferrying, "banning" (watch out for this unique mode of travel), etc etc type of ...

The line is a very popular photo spot for visitors.

... Manchurian (fried cauliflower in spices) and Indian-style Chinese veg noodles. We were all stuffed after our meal but managed to walk back home for fruit salad with some mango ice cream which rounded off an evening of good food and company. Satish stayed the night as it was pretty late when we were done and he was reliant on public transport. The next morning was a very relaxed one as we chatted with Satish, drank tea and learned a bit about Mysore from Satish, who ...

    Serving lunch at the Orphanage

... will show, life in the orphanage is awfully basic by our standards. However, the children looked healthy, content and were delightful as children this age are. One wee one is about 3 and "Mother" helped feed her. All is eaten with their hands. When done they take their metal plates outside in the back to wash and put on a shelf - never a moan or groan to do so. They are all in their ...
