... to be spectacular, you can see where many years ago the lava ran down and are now covered in vegetation. Up and over the top now you can really see what we had driven up, as we go down the other side we can see the drops, probably good we didn't know this when it was dark!! The driver stops to show us a huge farming area, this is almost vertical farming on all the slopes of the mountains. They grow onions, potato, cabbage, broccoli etc, this must be real tough ...

a part of it. As we approached the temple, it was mayhem. Many scooters were
trying to all find a parking space. We eventually found one and after adjusting
the clothing we followed the husband and wife toward the temple.
We had to walk a short distance past street vendors selling
all kinds of stuff - Kids toys, drinks, street food consisting of meat, rice,
deep fried batter and bags of boiled quail ...
... to visit them in Perth, but we probably won't make it to Australia this round. Hopefully our paths will cross again.
We're all feeling pretty spoiled after our time in Lipah. Alex and I even got to celebrate our 13th anniversary in this idyllic place. Tomorrow, we head back down to the "Fort Lauderdale" part of Bali for a couple of days in a hotel with real working WIFI, so we can hammer out the final details for the next leg of our journey -- China!

It is beautiful, has a pool, spa on the beach in front of reef, laundry and the room is like a honeymoon sweet. Open shower, mosquito net and towel arranged like ducks and aircon! The shower was difficult to control and I have to say it took time for an outdoor shower to grow on me, too many bugs! We acquaint ourselves with our room, shower ...
... a pool and a few metres walk from the beach-side restaurant and...the beach. After checking in at the dive centre to try and establish a timetable so we could plan the rest of our trip we went to the beach to snorkel. At the dive centre we were told diving would start at 8am and then finish when it finished so that was all cleared up.
We had dinner at a ‘busy’ local spot and then retired to the terraced area for a few Bintangs and a game of ...
