        ... all jumped in! Wow, the are so big, and so graceful. With two flicks of the tail the whale shark was already so far away. I was kicking for my life so fast trying to keep up, but so effortlessly the whale shark swam quickly away. Once it swam away we all got back on the boat and continued the search. Again we found a whale shark and we all frantically jumped in the water. This excitement happened seven times. We were able to swim right next to the 40 foot, 20 ...

        . . . . well actually we never did get a ferry across the Mersey. We used the train instead to reach The Wirral and the town of New Brighton having travelled from Derby via Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street.

        Coming to Liverpool was part of a birthday weekend for Mrs H and stopping in New Brighton was a little different to staying in the city itself. The town promises a long promenade to wander along giving expansive views across to ...

        ... Cilla Black but last night at the restaurant at our hotel we had a lovely young lady, Abbie, as our waitress. She had a delightful accent but we could not understand a lot of what she was saying so Chris had to ask her to repeat herself on several occasions. She took it all with good humour and said she couldn’t work out if we were New Zealanders of Australians because we all sound alike. We told her that we were Tasmanians - a different breed altogether.
