... nest in this root system. The roots drink up the salt water and have a way of filtering the water out and distributing the salt into the upper leaves. These leaves turn yellow when saturated with salt, drop into the water, decompose....returning the salt to the waterways.

Not a lot to report today as once again we chose to relax ahead of the next few days which are likely to be a bit "full on".

After a leisurely breakfast we took a short drive down the coast to see the Trade Winds Resort where we stayed in 1992 our first visit to Florida. Memory can play tricks, but it is much bigger than when we stayed there and the area around it seems more built up. That's progress I suppose. ...

... had chosen to have a lie in and then spend some time in the hammock which is hanging in our garden. The weather has been so good today it would be silly not to take advantage.

We had lunch when I returned from golf and we spent the afternoon on the beach. I went for a swim despite warnings that rays were in the water. Pleased to say I got away with it!

Dinner tonight was at Johns Pass about a twenty minute walk away.

So...we are closing in on a month. Some things are becoming clearer, others not so much. It has taken almost 4 weeks for me to be able to consider not going to the beach every day. Some of it maybe weather related. It has been extremely windy and cool the last 3 days, making walking the beach a beating if you are walking into the wind, and a push walking back. Shelling has been non existent. I have found other places to find ...
