... is Australia Day! Much like our 4th of July, everyone is stocking up on BBQ (bar-bi) supplies and decorations. You know I got ours!! Mom arrives tomorrow as well. The girls collected fallen plumerias on our walk today to make a welcome lei for her. A skilled they picked up in Hawaii last summer. I am so excited to share this adventure with her. She is going to absolutely love it as this is a nature girl meets beach girls PARADISE.

... everywhere and the seats were all unusual, some made from old wooden and plastic electrician's wiring reels then covered, and stuff like that. The stalls were converted sea-containers decked out in unique ways, the food very multicultural. Different spots had different bands or singers entertaining, and there were people dressed in unique ways walking along. One guy looked like Herman Munster on stilts and two ladies were made up to be strawberry and vanilla icecreams.

... along the river bank for a bit to spot birds and any flora before a picnic lunch. Noisey Friars were out,pigeons, a plover and believe it or not, chooks! We did not recognise the calls from quite a few birds we could hear but not see. Bird life seemed busy. The red bottlebrush was out.
