... which was beautiful in the afternoon sun. Fun fact...the last rivet placed was actually made of solid gold but the bridge is named so because the straights over which it resides is known as the golden straights (early reference to the gold rush). FYI. We were pretty sad to let the mustang go...until we handed it over and realised we had forgotten to fuel up. They charge 8.99 per gallon at avis and we would have just paid it but it was almost 1/2 ...

... a weird guy on the bus who kept saying random things like "Can't this bus go any faster?", "Welcome to San Francisco, the wild west" and "Anybody got some pot? I'm buying". It was quite entertaining. With little time to spare, we had a quick look in some shops down the road and had dinner at a place called Super Burger - delicious veggie burgers but horribly flat cokes. ... people in the world and sometime friendly people are just friendly people and I need to let my guard down.

So back up the hill to the bus stop and finally we got on a Trolley car for our three block ride down the hills!!! The Trolley stopped and the girls said "that’s it" and we jumped off to hoof it up the rest of the hills ton our apartment. I walk exhausted and beat, so after showers and a beer I was sleeping by 10 and didn't wake up for 10 ...

... We were all refreshed after that.

We had bought a 3 day pass for the San Fran Muni system and have been trying to take trams everywhere but it is so cold its not nice in the freezing cold waiting for them. We took the tram down to Chinatown and walked around there and did a little shopping. It certainly is an experience. Once again, I forgot how many homeless people there are in San Fran, shame.

... present we are seated at the back if the ship in the Pennant Bar sipping beer and pimms, just about to get some lunch. I've been asked if we have crossed the equator? Not yet we have been quite close to it but still in the northern hemisphere. We should cross to the Southern Hemisphere after we leave Hawaii but before we get to Pango Pango (Tonga I think). At the same time I think we will also cross the International Date Line. Apparently the crew get up to some high jinks ...
