Travel Blogs from San Francisco

Amazing, but very thought provoking.

When I was woken up by the rain in the middle of the night, my first thought was about the time. I'd already set two alarms for 5am in the hopes that I would definitely be awake in time to get to the airport for the next stop. My second thought was that I was glad I'd booked a shuttle to the airport because there was no way I was going to walk anywhere in this kind of weather. The hotel that I'm staying in is, I think, an old Victorian house, up in 'Pacific Heights'. The ...

... town - a western styled strip of shops and bars. The evening saw us head off to the 'Rustlers Roost' an optional extra at a western style ranch complete with slippery slide entrance! A great night was had fuelled by the included booze - the food was also good and some of the tour members (not us) participated in some boot scooting lessons by tour director Ken! Day 3 on tour was one of the highlights as we came into red rock country where the views and ...

Day 7 LA to San Fran Trip: San Francisco

A travel blog entry by chelseanoble90 on Oct 10, 2014

After waking up after a pretty late night, we packed up our tents for the last time and headed into the van. We left pretty early in order to get to San Francisco in good time. We said good bye to the mountains and headed for the city. We stopped of in a funny supermarket, Safeway. The staff there were unbelievably happy here.Like traditional over the top American happiness, it was so funny. After we picked up lunch, we jumped back ...

A great sleep, we were woken by Shepard doing a 'headstand meditation' - at 8 years old he's pretty excited to have a 12 year old in his world. Kate drove us to get Jase a decent coffee - first one he's had since he left home. At this point of the trip anything that tastes, sounds, looks or feels like home is awesome. Drove the wharf - I swear the Alcatraz ferries left from a different wharf in '99 as the cool, but pretty smelly, seals weren't near us as we ...

San Francisco Treat!

... to call it a day. After all, we had been traveling since 5:45 am and had already accomplished a lot. Nope! There was so much more to see and experience! Next stop...Lombard Street (the crooked, topsy-turvy street). After somehow maneuvering our car down the road we stopped for some photos. It's definitely one of those things you have to see in person!

By this time, it was about 7 pm (10 pm our time). We were getting tired, but we just weren't ...
