Travel Blogs from Davos
While visiting family in Stuttgart, Germany, a friend of mine suggested we go snowboarding in Davos, Switzerland. What better place to learn snowboarding for the first time, the Swiss Alps! A ski town, clearly. Also a charming town. I embarked for my first lesson of snowboarding - after I take in the breathtaking view of the mountains.

Today I took a day trip to a couple of little villages, heidiland and Liechtenstein - a small country that is between Switzerland and Austria. It was a very nice tour and we passed through lots of farm land. The farms are all cute and old and tiny and they were smelly because everyone was spreading manure ...
... the bus to the Corviglia for a run but we were having a lot of fun and there were such few people on the slope we decided not to waste time in a bus. We took our time going down the slope stopping to take photos when the clouds cleared momentarily and giving us spectacular views of the mountains and valley. I had improved my technique a bit and Brigitte came me positive feedback and encouraged me to start using my poles while turning. I did fall several times but nothing ...
... was a small amount of soy sauce. Will try again sometime.
Brigitte had to go before dinner was ready to perform the accordion at a function, but we saved her some for when she got home after 9am. We had dinner with Bart and Eric and Eric even made us ice cream sundaes for dessert.
We chatted with Brigitte and Bart when she got home and Eric had gone to bed. Our plans for the next day on the snow was made and we could go to bed not too late.
... to me. We watched a few men go down and then headed up to St Moritz.
Brigitte showed us into the Kuhn Hotel which looked fairly ordinary outside but was magnificent inside with large wooden ceilings and walls with scenes made from the different wood patterns and colours. Brigitte headed off to do the groceries and left Joel and I to explore St Moritz. We walked around a bit and bought a few treats for later, but the snow was getting heavier so ...
