... has a beautiful beach and a good tourist trade, we did not bother to look any further.

Lovely drive and we crossed the bridge that links Spain and Portugal at 14:43, that was windy enough for the crossing of that bridge it was gusting 30knots and concentration is essential. If you slow down though and forget about the queue held up behind, you will be safe.

Our day started with an early morning wake up in sunny Madeira, then a short trip to the airport to drop off the hire car. Plane was delayed an hour, but no problems as we had plenty of time before our next leg. We arrived back in Lisbon airport and then waited another 40 minutes for the luggage to arrive on the carousel. No problems, we don't mind - patience is one of my better virtues, not says Leesa. ... gradually get bigger the more inland you get. And it's interesting to see the differences between the Spanish and Portuguese sides, the Portuguese being more rural with many derelict farm houses and the Spanish (especially near the entrance) more modern with many apartment blocks being built. We anchored in a lovely spot and sat around in the evening watching and listening to
nature. Just idyllic. We even saw a snake swimming from one side of the river to the other.

After servicing the outboard we took the ferry back to Olhao for further provisioning. Went to the market and stupidly forgot that fishmongers don't generally open on Monday's, so missed out on buying some more seafood. But, there was a small trader where we bought some oysters for 5 Euro and a great big bag of clams for 12 Euro.
