... bar and had a pint of peroni! Then over to mason diner, we had another beer each, a Mexican beer! Very strong but decent :) pasta dish, we both had the same. Pasta in a wine sauce with olives mushrooms and sausage. Yummy!! Too tired to stay out from biking everywhere today so Walgreens for water and a packet of M&Ms and watched tv in hotel room, Ross moved his mattress off the top bunk on the floor because he had a rubbish night sleep night before because of the creaking! ...

... close enough for us to see the pilot. That was a great experience.

We continued driving. We were doing a lot of miles in quick time. A quick check at the fuel gauge indicated that we could do another 80 miles before the tank becomes empty. The next big town was out of the national park and there was no sign of any gas station. After driving about 40 miles we luckily found a gas station but the charges were exorbitant at $6 per gallon more than 33% the cost in Vegas. But ...

... visiting San Francisco and we loved it. We did the tourist boat tour of San Francisco Bay, out to the Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz. We walked up the hills to Lombard Drive....the crazy 1 mile serpentine, Chinatown, Russian Hill, and Nob Hill. Then, back down to Pier 39 for dinner.

Off to Napa Valley tomorrow.

We left Monterey on Sunday and headed for SF. On the way we detoured to 17 mile drive which is a route through exclusive housing and golf courses, at a cost. There is a $10 charge which I have to say was totally worth it. The houses were amazing. We saw some in the property shops which were £12m+!!!! Talk about window shopping!!! There are ...
