... energy or maybe they had a low glycemic index. With that breakfast, I was able to hike 15 miles non stop and without even getting hungry. The trail stayed high on the ridge for most of the day, where from up above, lakes were visible. Eventually the trail took me to Deadfall lake, where I finally caught up with Cuban B and TooMuch. We had lunch here. Cuban B did 23 miles yesterday and plans to do 25 today, so he is about 5 miles ahead of us. ...

Cuban B, Too Much, and Myself called the shuttle service posted on the trailhead to pick us up ...

... been hiking with Cuban B and Too Much for the past few days. And I keep frog-leaping good ole ZigZag, the Kiwi. We keep bumping into LoneStar, too. He is the fly fisherman that is gonna write a guide book about fishing along the PCT. So tomorrow I make it into Mt. Shasta the town. I will take a zero there for sure. I have not had a zero since Lake Tahoe around June 1st. That was 19 days ago. I have been hiking every day now for 19 days straight. I think I am due for a rest ...

... at Mount Shasta by supper. Finding the KOA we book a campsite for the night and set up camp under the impressive, snow-covered Mount Shasta. We leave Jessica in charge of the fire as Amanda and I make the quick run into town to re-stock the liquor supply. Back to camp we make a gourmet dinner consisting of Mr. Noodles and Hotdogs, with wine of course. We keep feeding the fire and sit under the redwoods, while roasting marshmallows, drinking wine, reflecting on our trip ...
