Lots of sitting today. We rolled out of our hotel at 7:30 this morning headed for the Russian border. We had some of the best roads so far with paved two lane highways most of the way. After arriving at the border we handed over our documents and waited. After a few minutes they told us that we had to pull over to the side and wait. We had a problem with our entry documents into the Ukraine and they told us to wait ...

... All in all a worthwhile experience and a good history lessons for the children. Elske was most fascinated by all the tanks and machine guns outside the museum.
After some indulgence in the Sokoladnica (yes the chocoladecafe), we continued our trip in Western direction towards the Ukraine. Hopefully tomorrow we will reach the Crimea where we plan to spend a week or so before exploring the Western parts of the Ukraine.

Made it through the Ukrainian border in pretty good time, then it was the fun one. In my head, I had all sorts of preconceived notions about the Russian border guards. And once we were done with immigration, I thought we were coming through unscathed. Then we had to deal with customs and getting the right declarations for the car.
