... High School - about 2000. It boasts a beautiful castle that since 1993 has been open to and visited by tourists. Before that it had a sordid history of many owners, one of which declared bankruptcy in the mid 1500 (really…? In Switzerland..? yes…bankruptcy apparently so), and then was sold to a family who with the help of painter friends restored it back to it's original glory. The canton bought the castle back in the late 1930s.

... me the rest of the way down so I could get warm and dry. Day two here was similar, I went for a hike in the morning in the rain. No snow on this mountain but I did get done amazing views off the city. In the evening I was supposed to go rafting but it was cancelled because not enough people signed up. Fortunately the weather cleared up and was beautiful for my last night. Of course this morning it's raining again so I'm looking forward to my next stop in Turin ...

Just finished lunch and a slide....wheeeee Calvin just informed us.... We have done 9014km by road 1885 by sea Total 11813km To be ...

... is located about an hour South of Thalwil by train and is very easy to get to. We woke up both Saturday and Sunday morning early (approx. 5:30) and then headed down to the boathouse for breakfast. Switzerland has the most delicious bread. Many HUGE loaves of pumpernickel, white and a challah-like bread are delivered to the boathouse fresh from the bakery every morning. Breakfast consists of bread, pb&j, Nutella, muesli, yogurt, cheese and ...

... they promise us in Europe. Tonight was the Hilton, no complaints here. Up, shower, pack and bags at the door by 6.45am and on to breakfast so we can leave by 7.30am. No sleeping in around here. Next stop is the Rhineland and Heidelberg. Fairly long periods on the bus each day but scenery is lovely. Most of us find ourselves drifting off to sleep as we roll along the motorway or the autobahn. Buses and lorries are speed limited to 100km/hour but we have been bypassed by a few ...
