      7 great sights seen

Today dawned bright and clear, and it was the first time we'd seen our surroundings in daylight. The Battleaxes is situated on a nearly blind bend in a surprisingly busy country lane, so in order to take a photograph of a phone box clad in vegetation, we had to scamper across the road with alacrity. After breakfast we were keen to head off and make a start on the list of 'great sights'. The nearest of these was the Clifton ...

Dear all, We are in Plymouth tonight and head off to Stone Henge (again) and then to London. Then once we arrive at our hotel we will get ready to go out to the West end theatre area of London to see play War Horse! Off we go to our B&B. We are only here one night on route to Portsmouth. In the morning we take a walk down by the sea. They have a nice little pedestrian area where you can stroll along as well. It is another nice day and the dogs are all out playing in the surf. Dogs are prohibited from the beach from May to September, but it is October now and it is play time for puppies.

... outline on hill in Westbury, Wiltshire) - on our last day in England we drove over and saw a white horse that was carved into the side of a hill. They cut the grass and the rock underneath is chalk so it showed a white horse. The hill was very steep and Alexander slid down the horse but we were lucky he didn't go all the way down the hill! You could see the horse a long way away but close up it looked like a weird white thingy. It looked really good from a far ...
