... I hope you understand that this past weekend was actually one of the best weekends I've ever had in my entire life..... And I've had floor seats to a Jonas Brothers concert, so you do the math.

Hamidou disagreed and there were a few raised voices while we all stood around waiting. We were all gutted to be leaving St Louis and the beach but due to formalities we had to be in Dakar to file some truck papers or we would face a fine. Arriving in the city at lunch time we were dropped off to try and find some lunch. We managed to get a coffee from a Vietnamese restaurant after a security man persuaded the owner to open up for us.

... Calls for caution are not mis-placed when you are walking around Dakar. One evening as we were leaving for dinner, the security guard at the hotel was concerned that we had our little backpacks draped on our backs. If you absolutely need to take it, at least wear it over your front he insisted.
