After a crummy night on the felucca last week, I was surprised at how well I slept last night. I only slept until about 6:30 this morning but that's only because it was getting to be really bright and there were flies (thankfully not mosquitoes) buzzing in my ear. Otherwise, the temperature was perfect and it was soooo quiet. It was just really peaceful to wake up to the sound of nothing and only see a blue sky and ...

... bus, then waited at the bus stop till it left just after 3pm. Such a long drive back, there were only about 6-8 of us on the bus, stopped at the same dirty stop (saw a huge rat). We were dropped off at a different stop in Cairo about 8:30 (very busy area with lots of minibuses), met by Magdi who does airport transfers etc for Tresor. Magdi drove us back to Helene's place, stayed up talking to Helene and Lina, finally collapsing into bed after ...

Mike got chatting with 2 guys who lived about 60kms away, an engineer and an accountant, who are building a hotel nearby. Still chatted to them while eating our lunch, and we exchanged contact information. Headed back onto the highway again and drove for ...

... sculptures, these sculptures are in different shapes and it’s open to everyone’s imagination to identify their forms. I had picture with a big white rock which looks like a giant mushroom or an atomic bomb with a white giant chicken standing underneath it.

In the evening, we camped and had dinner in the white dessert. They started a fire, we sat in a circle and danced together. It was a “Thousand stars” hotel, we didn’t even have a tent, we ...

... aka. tourism-exploited) White Desert park. Then despite prepaying for an all fees (specifically the entrance) included trip, the main organizer purposefully did not provide the driver money to pay it for the group of 4 of us from the Alexander Hotel, because he was not told by the hostel owner he included this in his quoted price. I have no worries of getting at least this refunded, but between everyone that was also deceived we've wasted even more ...
