River Deep Mountain High

A travel blog entry by jandjsgrandtour

... ve guessed it, the next day we took a trip into the mountains. There's a route on the map called The Waterfall Way' running through the Dorrigo National Park which advertises a sky walk and forest trails taking in a number of waterfalls on route, and thats where we are headed.

It's an interesting drive in the van, up mountain roads with forest pressing in on either side. It's actually quite a good road, but needs a lot of concentration to manoeuvre ...

... is some competitions going on in the sea. We watch boat surfing. At around 12.30 wind picks up so we have lunch and then sit by the swimming pool. At 3.30pm a storm has picked up. What a storm! We go to the kitchen about 7pm, the place is packed. There is a large group from Taiwan (16). They have someone cooking for them. A great atmosphere.

Sunday 24 November

Wakenup to blue skies. A lovely full day on the beach at last.

Lucky Jayco's **** build quality allowed the water to run out and do minimum water damage. So back to the Caravan repair shop and $21 later and no more water leak. What's next. So we had another walk along the beach and the boys had a good play before we headed to the pub for $2 pots. ...

Another Quick Rest Stop

... Not much happening on the waterfront at night so we just headed back to the apartment.

We set the alarm for a 6am to ensure we could get down the beach to watch the sunrise. Surfers were already out and as the sun began to rise it was a great view over the water with the surfers on the waves. Well worth getting up for.

Coffs was a great stopover but I don't think there is much else to stop for there.
