... got to Phuket around 12 and decided we were going to do some elephant trekking, this was an amazing experience, it was a beast. Me and charlotte sat on a seat on it back while the tour guy sat on its head/neck. The tour guide even got off and let me and charlotte take turns sitting in the driving seat and riding the beast. ... went to a nearby bar Tom had found on tripadvisor. When we approached we heard the awful sounds of old fashioned British karaoke. Our hearts sunk. However, we stopped for a couple of drinks and it was actually quite fun. It helped that 3 beers cost £2.40. We met some real characters. The guy who owns the place was, in the words of Debi Seddon, "well oiled." He is a fisherman originally from Nr Whitby but moved to Thailand ...
