i eventually arrived and was met by Paula and her son Pablo. Having been awake for around 24 hours straight, my translation skills were not up to much, so when showed into a twin room, I guessed that I was sharing it with the son as there was no other room. When I decided to go to sleep, he looked very shocked when I asked him to wake me up if I snore. He quickly corrected me that he would be sharing with his mum, and not me. An awkward start....
*September 1-4th, 2011: volunteer visit. The volunteers that arrived in the August 17, 2011 group will make weekend visits to see 1-year volunteers...therefore, I get a visit from one!! I´m still figuring out what we´re going to do.
*October 2nd-24th: best birthday present ever...mother is visiting!!!
*October 28, 2011: 1 official year of the August 2010 group being in their site. Me being in Guasumita for exactly 1 year.
Most group trips tend to follow a pre-determined itinerary, so it seems only fitting that the first entry be presented in itinerary-style.
7:15am: Team members meet up at the American Airlines ticketing area of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
11:40am: Touch down in Miami. Less than an hour to make our connector.

... after Christopher Columbus died. Then, we saw the old Monastery and then a cigar shop and a shop where they finish Lari Mar, Amber and Black Coral jewelry. After, we went back to Bettye's, then went to get Yogunfruz. We had to try going to one Bon shop the. Another then back to the first one all for Yogunfruz, by it was worth it! I got a smallmone with pineapple and strawberries. It was pretty good!!! Then, we walked to our hotel and sat on the front porch for a while and I journaled!! ...
... Day are both big events. People had family come visiting so there were a whole bunch of people in Guasumita. Christmas Eve is about having dinner in your house with your family, and Christmas Day is about everyone going to church and eating dinner after. They were both good ways to spend Christmas.
