... wheel landings" on the hard surface runway to preserve my poor battered tail wheel spring. Some expensive AVGAS ($5.60/gal) was pumped into the wing tanks and as it started to rain, I hurried to the ramp tie downs. A big mean looking thunder bumper was bearing down on the strip so it was time for my heavy tie down ropes and full weather cover. The office building appeared to be abandoned and everything was locked up, so I ...
... temperature was pretty comfortable reaching down into the mid 40's, but it rained all freaking night. It never got too hard, but it also never really stopped either until it was time to wake up. I took a spill earlier in the day getting out of the RV (I stepped down onto the ONLY large rock in the entire parking lot and did a not so graceful prat fall onto the curb), so I'm trying to take it easy because my lower back, left hand (that I caught myself with), and my foot are all hurting. At least I didn't break anything...I haven't signed up for health insurance yet! ;)
