... noise level,was through the roof since everyone came with a family or group so it was pretty crazy... The old town has lovely buildings but many of them had "mall" stores on the first floor...Claire's, H & M, Levi etc. Prices are hideous! But we did have a lovely outdoor lunch in a platz (plaza). I had tomato and mozzarella salad ( my go to salad here) and the BEST quiche Lorraine ( not a pie like ours but more of a tart) and jerry had duck terraine. ...

... I knew that walking pace was roughly 5km/hour. As I have mentioned before, the people here in Switzerland generally move more than we do back in North America. Tony and I have done many alpine hikes and mountaineering tours back home in Canada and figure ourselves to be fairly quick walkers when we want to be (and we don't have kids hanging off of us, or have to doll out copious amounts of gummy bears to entice said children to get moving). ...

Before leaving Lucerne we took a walk back to the lake to take a few more pictures at twilight. It is sad to go. We loved Switzerland.
Tomorrow we are off to Florence.

... the top, it had stopped raining and the sun was coming through the clouds. It was so beautiful; with the sun streaming through the clouds over the mountains, it made the town look eerie. We couldn't stop talking about how amazing it looked, and how lucky we were! The tower had a great 360 view of the city, mountains, lake, and the countryside.
