We're on our way to Como now, winding our way through the mountains and around the lakes. The scenery is spectacular but there is too much reflection on the train windows to get any decent pictures. ... towards Lucern. Russ is our driver and we negotiate the streets in Lucern and only get a little lost on route to our hotel. We are staying at the Tourist hotel which is directly across from the fast flowing river Reuss. Seeing as we have made Lucern early we check in and go exploring the city for the day. When Karen said 'apple', we were all good to take a chicken wing from her plate. When she said 'eagle', it meant the waiter or waitress was close by and we had to hide the chicken wings. ... had a nice lady take a few picture of the 3 of us. We met a couple from Utah that we visited with for a little bit and took pictures of them together. It is really nice to find people who can help you take pictures, because then you can have all the people you are traveling with in a picture. Then the kids and I walked up towards the tower to get a closer look and take some more pictures. Believe me...Hails and Ez are getting tired ...

... to the top of Mt. Pilatus were still closed with snow. The weather was magnificent....bright and sunny, just perfect! The mountain is 1990 metres tall and when walking upwards we could certainly feel the shortness of breath (not as high as Auguille du Midi eh Katrina?) and certainly not as cold. I'll let the photos show how beautiful it was. We came down on the cogwheel railway....the worlds steepest with a gradient of 48%! Sandra and ...
