Heading toward Keswick was an adventure. He made the GPS take us through the scenic route. This in turn took us up the mountains and around the edge of the lakes. The views were beautiful, at least the ones we could see through the snow. The further we went, the more it snowed and it was making driving the 2 wheel drive Ford Focus a bit of a challenge. I departed Oxenholme station in late afternoon, after waving my family goodbye I settled into the first stage of my long journey across the world.

After several hours on the virgin train from the north I arrived in
london at Euston, I crossed to Notting hill gate to meet natascha, my
