The Quarry Exhibit Hall is a building built over some very rich fossil beds. Around two thirds of the fossils had previously been removed. Then enough rock was removed to expose the next layer, which contains roughly 1,500 of fossilized bones. This layer of bones was left in place so you can see what the paleontologists saw.

... 3 month trek down the Green and Colorado Rivers. When he saw the Red Rocks, he named the area Flaming Gorge. It must be fun to name an area and have it live on after you pass.
