... We changed our clothes in the car because we couldn't be bothered to walk all the way back to the Hotel. It cost us €60 to play 9 holes, you would have thought there would have been a reduction for the inconvenience. ... it's not surprising the local restaurants offer "fish if the day" on their menu. Time for a hot drink and lunch we made our way back to town. Sale à l'étage had seats in the sun so that's where we had a tea/coffee and a panini. It got so warm we took our ***********. 18°! We walked, uphill now, back towards the old town. We took more photos of various statues of art, before deciding it was time for a nice large glass ...
... and we were off to investigate. We learned that Boulogne-sur-Mer is nicknamed 'city of art and history'. The archway took us to the old town, and it's cobbled streets. Practically the first bar we came across was were we stopped for a glass of wine. It was still sunny and warm enough to sit outside. The glass of wine was enormous, the glass was big enough to wash your feet in! I bought myself a pair of oven mitts from the little shop ...
Our last day in France and it rained all day. I thought that was rather apt. We arrived in the rain and we are leaving in the rain. It looks like its really happening and this guy is going to take the van. He is very excited and is travelling down with us to Cornwall tomorrow and then driving the Beast away. We are nearly finished one part of our journey and will have some time with Jane and Anton and a small trip to Greece to look forward ...
... so hopefully there will be no delays. Nope, no delays, no migrants, nothing! Also a good clear drive back home there were even no queues at the Dartford Tunnel. Back home by 3pm and spent the next 2.5 hours unloading and sorting stuff out. All done, can't wait until next ...
