... van onto a spacious pitch and ended up taking about 10 attempts which only goes to show how tired I was. So it was an early night for me.
The next day I went exploring and found a lovely lake right next door to the site and an even lovelier village a few minutes walk away. Rochefort en Terre is reputed to be one of the most beautiful villages in France and I agree, it is a joy. To add to my pleasure there were some ...

We were ready to set off by 9am today. Unfortunately, my wish for no pain when I first got on the bike today was unfulfilled. Yes, it was a bit unrealistic, but surely I can hope? Perhaps tomorrow. It's forecast to be 37degrees today and we have a big day of riding planned today. Initially we were doing close to 60kms and that included a short ferry ride. Apparently it's unseasonably warm here in Brittany this year, and in particular, this week so we're told to expect temperatures of 30-31 degrees. We arrive in Reddon at 11am and we take time ...

... As we still felt a bit tired after the journey, we decided to have a day visiting nearby local towns. We started at Loudeac, a pleasant small town about 20mins away. We explored it for a while and then sat in town square eating some tasty French bread and cakes from a patisserie. From there we then went to another small town, Pontivy which was nice and relaxing. Rose is amusingly hyper today, talking ...

... was absolutely packed with people too, so we ended up having our coffee and snack sat on the floor, which amused Rose a lot. We had a look out on the deck and Emily enjoyed peering out to sea. After disembarking, our six hour car journey then began. We had a break at around 1230 at a service station in Normandy before then completing the rest of the journey. The car got rather warm in the afternoon, but Rose and Emily ...
