Across the Endless Outback
After a semi-comfortable night in the half empty backpackers class we stopped for a couple of unnecessary hours at Katherine to visit the local Gorge. After a short hike through the scorching heat to the advertised lookout I decided to keep my camera in the pocket... ;)

Finally arriving at our destination (Watarrka National Park) we set up camp for the night and cooked dinner. Day 6-Uluru to Kings Canyon!

Afterwards we went back to the bus and had some fruitcake and sat and talked with Jason. He wasn't in the best mood because there were people doing "the climb." The Uluru is a sacred piece of land/rock to the Aboriginal people and only the wise leader is allowed to climb to the top to initiate ceremony, so it is very disrespectful to climb the rock, but people do it anyway. Spring break: Uluru, Kakadu and Darwin
... Om aftenen lavede vi mad i fælleskøkkenet, og fik derefter en øl i baren, hvor der også var en fyr med en guitar, der stod for noget live-musik. Det var faktisk ret godt, og man kunne også ønske sange.
