... it, if he walked down this street with a vehicle. There were tight turns as we went up the hill. When we got out, we were not surprised to see that the side of the van was completely scraped. The restaurant was quaint. At least 100 pictures of Sofia Loren posted everywhere. We were seated in the back patio. The waiter acted offended when I asked if they served pizza. ... discoveries. Neopolis/Napoli was discovered in 470 BC by the Greeks. Underneath the museum was an intricate network of market stalls and shops dating back to 600 BC. After emerging from the labyrinth below, we escaped to watch a video while also retreating from the throng of kids that were on a class filed trip. Their excited voices echoed in the cavernous walls below.

The hotel here compensated for the dull ride. It appears to be glued onto a cliff looking over the Bay of Naples ( and has good WiFi!).

Dinner in authentic Neapolitan pizza joint. Fish for me.

... We ended our day by finally getting out of Naples!! We are taking the overnight ferry to Palermo, Sicily. The ship is huge (as in cruise ship huge)...of course it has cars and quite a few semi trucks in addition to the passengers! We ended up in a cabin with separate twin beds - not what we planned for (though we knew it was a possibility), but as Grant said, " it's a small price to pay to get the hell out of Naples!" The ship is fairly nice...a lot like a cruise ship, just not ...

... because the metro stations were few and far between, we hailed a taxi for the first time on this trip. By this point we were starving, and even though it was only 4pm, we wanted dinner. We quickly learned that most everything in Naples closes at 4pm, and doesn’t re-open until around 7:30pm.
