... we made our way to the train station intending to leave our luggage for an hour or so and have a final explore of Naples, but the left luggage was a minimum of €6 per item, and we felt that that was outrageous for just an hour so instead we enjoyed the comfort of a nearby cafe until it was time to board our train to Venice. ... in Amalfi, Sorrento and Pompeii for the same price. We were wrong of course as the Holland America trip was in dollars and the CBM tour in Euros. It was still more to our liking and a better deal. This was our first paid shore excursion on this cruise.

Everything that Switzerland was - calm, organized, efficient - Naples is not. Naples is chaos on cobbles. It feels similar to Lisbon but dirtier. You can't go 30 seconds without hearing a car horn, and on some nights without a piercing car alarm persist for 1-2 minutes.
