... He gave me a small smile and I left him in peace.

I crossed the road to what is supposedly the oldest pagoda in Cambodia, staffed y what looked like the oldest man in Cambodia, the french speaking caretaker. ''Entree?'' he asked.
''Oui oui''.
I got my camera out and started taking a few snaps, moments later I was descended upon by a mob of kids between the ages of 5 and 10. Each of them wanted a go with the ...

I had paid $5 to plant a tree so in order to collect the specially made sign we went to the rep of the organiser in an island home stay. Whilst we waited for the sign I got chatting to some French people from Brittany who had been travelling for nearly a year constantly. It made my whistle stop tour rather insignificant in comparison to them who had stayed for 5 months in Laos for example.

We continued on ...

It took me a good hour and when I reached the place I had seen real rural Cambodia, been greeted by every child ...

But we finally made it to Kratie, a small town on the Mekong river known as one of the few places on earth where you might catch a glimpse of Irrawaddy dolphins, a very endangered species of freshwater dolphin. The town was, well, dirty. The buildings were mildewed, the streets full ...

It's easy to see why it's so famous with all the incredible design, detail and forethought that went into creating it. We almost went up in a huge hot air balloon (holds 50 or so) but it was so far away from Angkor the view didn't look that promising/worth it.

Prasat Kravan- These brick towers seem like you ...
