... the location of the pancake rocks and blowholes, around 12 20 pm. Punaikaki is right on the coast, and we drove on the oceanside quite some time to get there, passing by big waves in the ocean and cool rock formations. The pancake rocks and blowholes are made from limestone, and geologists are still unsure of why they formed. They make really neat forms, and Natalie really thinks one looks like a chimp. We woke up to a sunny day in Akaroa this morning. It was a nice change from the clouds. We had to tender from the ship today and had an early morning. We woke up at 5:45am and had breakfast delivered to our room, and then departed the ship at around 7:30am. When we got to the pier, our little Sea Cruise left immediately. It was very very pretty and we got lucky with the weather!
