Chilling out today on the roof around the swimming pool; after a late breakfast and booking our boat to Koh phi phi tomorrow, we did a bit of washing to take upstairs with us and dry in the sun. It was really hot today! We topped the tans up in between jumping in the pool to cool off. I popped to the family mart and got us a share size ...

... temperature drops and it darkens and the town and all the people wake up and come to life.
We wait till the cool of the evening to indulge in our decadent massages or facials. The choices are endless and we are working through them. At about $15 an hour it is well worth it and no wonder we sleep so well.
Thank you, so many of you for your sweet wee comments.

I felt sorry for the local people who relied on this to put food on their ...

... at the hostel bar, we then made our way down Bangla road, which was packed to the max. There was tons of coloured foam and silly string being sprayed everywhere, the atmosphere was electric. The group managed to get separated but then everyone managed to reunite just before the countdown, a new years miracle!!! The rest if the evening was spent partying on the beach, drinking buckets, lighting Chinese lanterns, accidentally burning ...

... was like as some other travellers said its a funny night out. Now we know why...

Started off with a drink in this rock bar playing ACDC. We had loads of people coming up to us on the way asking us if we wanted to see a 'ping pong show' and we knew it wouldn't be a game of table tennis so walked swiftly past them all. After a cocktail at this rock bar (which was great!) we thought we'd pop in next door. We sat down and the drinks were far too expensive so tried to head ...
