I wanted to take my kids to a classic, old school motel like I grew up going to. But that can often be pretty dicey these days. Not so at the Prospector., I Pricelined Blanding and this cam up as the highest rated and still at the best price. We drove by and I was concerned. After my Motel 6, Farmington, NM experience, I decided that asking to see the room in advance would be a good idea. It was huge, had everything we needed, super clean and amazing....and gave me a price better than the Priceline.

In Winslow Arizona we "stood on the corner" (remember the Eagles song "Take it Easy") & also admired the beautifully restored La Posada Hotel. In Flagstaff on 4th July we joined 100 000 others to watch the parade & then enjoyed a free outdoor concert. It rarely rains in this part of the world but it has poured heavily on several ...

We drove to Goosenecks State Park where the San Juan River meanders through goosenecks on its way to the Colorado River and eventually Lake Powell.
We had dinner at the Cottonwood Steakhouse. The daytime was sunny and 64 degrees while the nighttime was clear and 34 degrees. The moon is almost ...
... no Verizon service. But as we got farther up the highway the landscape change into some of the most beautiful formations and mesas. It was truly worth the trip. And even into Utah it was great. We stopped in Blanding, UT. for the night. The day was not a waste for the views on 191 north. But it is a little chilly here and would not be a comfortable nite in a tent. Tonite was a tent night, but we decided to motel it. If any of you have read Tony Hillerman's Navajo ...
