... tell) were different tribes or something along those lines. (I was unable to get this question across to the woman)
Well after about 10 minutes or so, this woman’s group passed by.
She then proceeded to grab one of my hands and one of my friends hands and pull us, along with her into the running pack of people that were dressed all in purple and white.
While running, they were also singing and clapping.
It was crazy.
There were so many people I was ...
Teshie, Ghana reneemarie... monkey sanctuary’s all over the place where you can see “wild” monkeys in an enclosed area.
(This will definitely be a future trip)

It took about half an hour to walk on all the canopy bridges (there were 7) and afterwards we ate lunch where I had red red for the first time. Red red is my new favorite Ghanaian dish. It’s beans and plantains that are mixed together. It looks disgusting but it tastes amazing.

Cape Coast, Ghana reneemarie... you eye daggers that make you feel incredibly uncomfortable.

So that is the end of this entry. What happens when we left the botel will come sometime in the near future.
Update: This blog has more or less become my journal.

Oh and rumor of Renee going to Benin with the University’s basketball team. Not going to happen. Apparently the girl’s games got postponed until January. (crushing I am aware) and they had already been postponed since July. Good. God.
Cape Coast, Ghana reneemarie... could walk anywhere and everywhere.

The most interesting, and quite possibly disturbing part was walking through the dungeons. They really hadn’t done a whole lot to renovate what had been built by the British so they told us that what we saw was what the slaves had also seen (minus the electricity)
It was incredibly depressing.
The castles both had a male and female dungeon. It was more or less a large, underground room that was damp and dark. The ...
Cape Coast, Ghana reneemarie... this historic place. While it was a lot of driving for two days (especially for Ledzi, who was travelling in the trunk), it was well worth the trip. Our trip to Cape Coast was highlighted by the roadside food shopping. Anywhere you stop in Ghana, there is someone selling food at the side of the road. You don't even have to leave your car, they deliver to your window. We bought octopus for dinner.

On Tuesday, I woke up to find out that the hotel we stayed at is ...
Cape Coast, Ghana derekgray... that time period. The Door of No Return was the exit from the castle to the awaiting ships for transportation to the New World.

We decided to go for lunch near the castle at Cape Coast, The Castle Restaurant. We attempted to use a road that followed the coastline but after about five miles we had to turn back as a bridge had been damaged by a big wave. We finally got to the restaurant and ended up having a great meal. The castle was under going some ...
Cape Coast, Central, Ghana annanddave... trip to the slave fort at Cape Coast. Like St Georges Castle there was a tour on offer but having heard all the information before I only stayed a short time before making my own way around. While doing so I witnessed a small fishing boat get swamped by a rather large wave. Lots of people and things getting washed everywhere. Locals playing soccer on the nearby beach swam out to assist, luckily, nobody hurt.

In the afternoon we visited Kakum National ...
Cape Coast, Ghana bradmccartney... Today was our lucky day, our tro-tro (a Ford) was practically new and the man selling tickets outside informed us proudly that it had A/C and seat belts. What a deal! After waiting for it to fill, the A/C was wonderful when we finally left. Unfortunately, seat belts don't work when you over pack the vehicle (and now you can all worry about me in Ghanaian motor vehicle accidents. Just remember that I survived night buses in Bolivia and jay-walking in ...

Cape Coast, Ghana nettan... like: Them: "Hello. Wh**e are you from?" Us: "England." Them: "Ahh! Our colonial mastahs. You have come back to your country!" Us (hurriedly contradicting them): "This is YOUR country. We stopped being your colonial mast**s before eith** of us w**e born." When we lat** questionned someone about Ghanaians attitudes towards the British, we w**e told that the British are v**y popular h**e. (We inwardly guffawed - "Surely not?".) We w**e told that despite the obvious ...
