... fantastic view across some other islands and the surrounding rainforest - beautiful! Eventually we reached the bottom of the trail and the waterfall. It was very pretty, but when you have stood under Iguazu within a week, all waterfalls will seem a little small!!!! ... fun playing around in the sand. It just meant we didn't get the best photos or tan! Hopefully Rio will deliver. We caught a boat back round to the main village where our hostel was so we didn't have to do the walk again. We got a lovely sandwich from the bakery then spent the evening playing table tennis in the hostel (our biggest rally was 137!) whilst rain was beating down ...
... was VERY wrong so we had a nice wee wander about town, seeing scary birds along the way - to a black+white beach, another old prison (this used to be a pirate place too before!), cool pool (literally), old aqueduct and then (another hike) up to a little waterfall and back to the beach just in time for the boat home. Otherwise ilha grande has been mainly spent reading on a hammock and monkey spotting - my new favourite past times! ...

It was a bit of a dump, low lit and questionable refrigeration. They
didn’t even sell orange juice or cold water. I had gotten over the
cockroach by this time so I was looking for some proper food. There

... and moments before it tumbled into the sea. However this was only the start of our problems. When we docked, we had to pull the suitcase uphill on a dirt track which lead us to the beach. The only problem was the tide was in which meant that we had to wade through the water carrying our bags. Problem no 2, we couldn't lift Jo's bag, luckily for us a local lad felt sorry for us and picked up Jo's bag and popped it on the ...
