It was suggested to us to see Cabo Frio, which has one of the nicest beaches near Rio. Unfotunately we only had one beachday, due to the weather, and we spent our second day eating the local açai, and watching a movie in the cinema. We felt great at the beach, knowing everyone at home has to work :P

Rio
... is nuts on a grand scale. No one pays taxes or for water or electricity as they are all stolen. If one person buys cable tv the whole Favela will have it. Theres roughly 300,000 people in just this one Favela which is about the population of Canberra squeezed into a third of the size (thats a lot of stolen cable).
