The next day we went to Parque de Aves, the bird park. I'm normally wary of anywhere that keeps animals in cages but the back story of rescue and release checked out so off we went. It was lovely to see so many brightly coloured birds and butterflies - a lot of which are endangered. And you can never go wrong with flamingoes. ... to walk back to our meeting point. Although we had some time before taking the boat trip near the falls, there was not enough time to dry off properly. Before long we made our way to the area, where we were to take the truck to the water' sedge. We climbed aboard just as the next downpour came down on top of us. ... weather wise if not a little too hot!

In terms of what we've done - we've basically covered everything on the Argentinean side - the highlights being (1) hearing the roar of water from the 'Devils Throat' for the first time and then the subsequent soaking (2) the incredible views from both the lower and upper walkways (3) the boat ride into the mouth of the falls and again the instant soaking.


Back to sunshine but lots more water!

After a very wet day in Rio we arrived in Iguacu to clear skies and a lovely sun set.

We spent the first day on the Brazilian side of the falls taking in the stunning views of all the different falls. With the temperature up in the mid 30s it was very plesant to walk out close to the base of the Devil's Throat and get completely soaked from the spray.

No update today. I was suppose to go visit the Argentinean side of the waterfalls - but Argentina wouldn't let me in (apparently my visa had expired). So took a cab back from the border to the Brazilian side :). Just going to be chilling.
