... get very annoying.
After lunch on day 3 we were due to leave, so we packed up all our stuff and piled in the back of the truck for the long journey back to Campo Grande. We swapped to a van once we got off the dirt roads, but by then we had been swarmed by mozzies yet again. They are relentless. ... the boat. I wasn't so lucky or skilful.
We also had a demonstration of a black-collared hawk being called down from the trees to be fed piranha. A caiman also swam by to be fed piranha.
Saw plush-created jays and yellow-billed cardinals at the feeding troughs at the Fazenda.

... It was amazing. They were right by the shore. They were a bit scarred of the boat, but they walked off down the river so we could follow them. Then they disappeared into the forest, but by the time we turned around to go back up the river, they were back in their same spot and we could watch them again. It was unreal. We were so lucky to see them, since it is pretty rare, even though they are relatively common in the Pantanal.

... to get any meat off of them, they seem to be 90% bone.

On a walk the next morning we were able to get a little closer to the howler monkeys and see some peccaries. We were also able to sneak up under a tree two red-and-green macaws were sitting in. Once they saw us they didn't flee but rather started screeching at us. It seems to be a common standard in nature that the more beautiful birds tend to have the worst calls and macaws don't let ...

... me jsou především Australané (ani se nechce věřit, že v Austrálii někdo zůstal:-))) pak Američané, Izraelci, Novozélanďané, Holanďané, Němci, Francouzi a Belgičané. Holanďanů je tu také jeko blech, zejména v Brazílii jich bylo jednoznačně nejvíc. Občas člověk potká ještě nějaké Birty nebo Švýcary, či Kanaďany. O Čechy jsme prakticky nezavadili, krom ...
