... we moved only after 2 hours - so it was clear for us that we are missing the ferry. By chance we
verified the time with one guy on the bus, and understood Brazil moved to the winter time that
morning, i.e. we had one hour more .
Finally we arrived to the bus terminal, and run to the ferry, so we succeeded getting there in the
last minute.

... uphill, 1 hour downhill in the heat - it were hard! Through the jungle we went, hearing the crazy noise of howler monkeys (like a tractor that won't start + a tiger in pain!) and enjoying the jungle abouts us. Finally we got to the lovely quiet little beach after a wander around the quite eary but also quite pretty dios rios abandoned prison (in the 1990s) for a much needed sunbathe before time to head back uphill! ... I have been surprised about is the hills in this area. I knew Rio was situated on hillsides, but hadn't thought abut the surrounding areas. The journey to Paraty gave USA a taste of it, and it goes on.

It is mainly hotels, restaurants, tour services, and homes. It is lovely though, but the streets are all sand which is not ideal for the rain.

Whatever the cause, the result was very simple - unable to walk, having been thrown out of the bar for vomiting all over the toilet, and being force fed water by strange Brazilian people on the beach.
