A travel blog entry by allynut on May 31, 2015

... arrived at the museum, and he tried to rip us off (a regular occurrence in Sri Lanka) and said he told us it was 400 rupees to the museum, even though he 100% said 200. We gave him an extra 100, so 300 in total and walked into the museum. It was a old mud hut, with bare walls and floors, no fans or AC and the walls were covered in images displaying the devastation caused by the 2004 tsunami. There were personal accounts of individuals who managed ...

... from being served as breakfast. I don't know about you but the idea of turtle egg omelettes don't quite sit right with me! We had booked flights to Thailand at 1am and 2am (I missed getting on her flight!) so we slowly made our way to ...

... stick fishermen Sri Lanka is known for. It was an extraordinary experience - imagine big waves, a stick and tiny people on them with small fishing rods.

After putting our feet on the boat we were heading with lot of other boats to spot some whales. We were lucky and I was like a baby Lenka when I saw a big tale popping out of the sea that was larger than a small boat right next to it. I completely forgot to use my camera as I was so astounded by these big mammals. I had ...

... then we were both waiting for a shark or whatever it was that made 1000 fish decide "I'm going this way, asap", and we freaked out and got out the water haha. We will never know what it was. So we moved around to the opposite end of the beach to play in the waves like big kids. After a while I got totally wiped out by one though. I just happened to be standing at the exact point were the wave breaks, and I got churned around like I was in a washing machine. I was ...
