Arrived in Makassar shortly after 1am and then took another half hour or so to berth and disembark. Took a motorised rickshaw to the New Legends hostel with Daniel where we were eventually let in after we had woken the night staff up. The room cost 135,000INR and was very basic and not worth the money so the next morning we transferred to the Losmen Semeru which was of an equal standard but only cost 80,000INR. They took us for lunch at a Chinese restaurant that served Halal food which kind of made me giggle, I went all the way to Indonesia to eat Halal food in a Chinese restaurant. J The food was delicious though and it was nice to relax a little bit before heading off to our next stop which was Fort Rotterdam. The Fort remained from when the Dutch controlled Indonesia. ...

... basket on the front that 2 passengers sit into, very safe…) & about 19hrs later we arrive in gorontolo.

October 24th: travel for 25hrs from gorontolo via makassar to sentani, jayapura, papua. Another gruelling trip where we tried to save a mal-nourished puppy from a man made lake whilst waiting 17hrs in makassar airport. I recommend nobody to ever spend this long in an airport…drain….drain… ………..drain ...
