... to the info sign, Da Vinci perfected the design for use in water pumping. Based on our observations of the multitude of poo plants along the Rhine, I think the main application is pumping sewage! Unfortunately, thanks to the rain that day, we had another casualty for our trip. This time our Italian phrase book has succumbed to the wet weather. We spent about an hour hair drying some life into it, we believe the pages may now not be stuck together, however it ...

There's a whole load of Italy that I haven't seen and that I'll have to see at a later date when I've got my own car and not relying on public transport, but to me it's all about Venice.

Without giving it a great deal of conscious thought I'm gradually compiling a few lists in my head, rating different destinations ...

... The glass-blower, who didn't exactly seem enthusiastic to be there, was able to create a horse in less than two minutes. Of course there was the push to buy goods from the gift store after the demonstration. Following this, we visited a local lace store. This time the guide was much more enthusiastic, teaching us just how complex the process of lace-making is. Following our tours, we had the option of taking a gondola ride on the grand canals. How can you ...
