Playa del Carmen is only 75 minutes away from Cancún.

Maya / Toltec ruins of Tulúm was a small and felt like a park with walkways well defined. It was the setting on the 12-meter / 39 ft tall cliffs cliff top that impressed me. Otherwise just a pile of rocks.

The iguanas certainly brought back my memories of 2 years ago same time when I was in the Galapagos Islands.

A 7.45 am departure from the hotel meant that we were able to catch the 8 am bus to the beautiful beach resort of Playa del Carmen which was only 75 minutes away from Cancún.

In the afternoon we walked down to the beach club we had access to ...

... 28th June: We arrived early in Playa Del Carmen, unpacking at our final hotel together. The hotel was the best yet; with a luxurious central swimming pool and grand sized rooms. I rushed to use the wifi, knowing my university results had been posted hours earlier. After the weeks of nervous waiting my anxiety was put to rest, as I had graduated with first class honours. I attempted to call my Mum, however she enjoying Wimbledon and didn't answer. ...

... when the sun was out. I lathered my pasty self in sunscreen and headed out to read my book by the ocean. I stayed a couple of hours, reapplying sunscreen several times and felt confident I would not get burnt. WRONG. Thanks a lot useless Target brand sunscreen. I got so burnt in patches I actually got blisters. I'd heard of this before but never seen it or in all my years of getting sun burnt experienced it. I'm talking massive blisters - one 4cm across. It made for ...
