... So one of the apple trees was stripped of its fruit and fresh plums were wired onto the branches instead. Our farm stay tonight, after the slightly hair raising driveway up to it, is really perched up in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of the forest with not another house in sight. In fact the only building that can be seen is the top of a Buddhist temple a couple of kilometres away, the other side of the valley, a retreat for the religion's following from ...

We were hoping to travel to the Hot Water Beach today but the tide timetable in the local paper showed that we were far too late to make the trip successful. ... the inconvenient time out of our minds, enjoyed a walk by the sea and an evening feasting on the scenery all around us. Debating on what time to set the alarm we decided on 7.25am to see what happened. At 7.26am a loud knocking on our window had us hurriedly opening the door to see a ranger who was going around each camper van to remind them to vacate the site at 7.30am or be fined $200. ...

... we didn't have much time here which meant we basically managed to walk to the cove, take a few snaps, and walk back to the bus which was a shame because it would have been nice to spend a little time on the beach chilling. It was about half an hour from Cathedral Cove to Hot Water beach. Our accommodation here was pretty cool. We (kiwi experience) had a set of four pods which had twelve beds in each split between two dorms with a communal kitchen in ...
