... was completed in 1448. In the late 19th century, the neo-Gothic façade was constructed over the nondescript exterior that was common to Catalan churches. The roof is notable for its gargoyles, featuring a wide range of animals, both domestic and mythical. We didn't tour the inside because we've seen a lot of cathedrals. We walked around the gothic quarter and looked at a few little shops. ...

... immediately identified that we were kiwis upon hearing Craig's voice and accent! It was 1.40am when we left the restaurant which was still open though we don't recall if there were any other customers at our one. The place didn't open till 1pm which gave me an hour and a half to stroll further downtown, buy a 1 euro coffee at a MacDonalds and sit on a bench to watch the hundreds of people walk by me. Some dressed good, some dressed bad, and some dressed downright ugly. My heart went out to the older men and women who ...

Coming Home

A travel blog entry by thefinnegans on Apr 13, 2014

... We settled in for our 9 hour flight home. Takes an hour longer going home. Great flight with some turbulence that made me nervous. A couple glasses of wine took care of that problem. When we landed we cleared customs and were on our way home within an hour. So easy. It was a great trip that we will never forget. Now it's time to go home and dry out. No more wine for ...
