We spent a wonderful day with Nicolas, Elodie wee Paul and Antoine. Most of the day was at Nicolas's parents place where the pool was 25 deg, a great bbq and to finish I managed to beat Nicolas at Petanque 2 games to 1.
Taking it easy today as we packed and were taken to Geneva Airport early by Elodie. The afternoon spent in the lounge bar relaxing before our trip home via Zurich on Swiss Air.

Our last couple of days in France were wonderfully spent with Nicolas & Elodie and their families. We had a lovely dinner with them in Annecy the night we flew back from Dubrovnik, funny how everything in France is familiar, we had got use to all the systems, the language etc.

Sunday was spent at Nicolas parents who cooked and great BBQ lunch and I learnt a new ...

I was intrigued by the construction methods for the roof, Marc informed me that the roof shape was designed to withstand the snow storms. All the timber was hand cut apart from the replacement purlins under the iron. The original roof had been timber planks overlapped.

          ... French!!!!

Vincent drives us up & up further and further into the hills from the family farm, the views are incredible, Heidi sitting next to me is really happy to show us her hills its a very special time for us all. We park the car and wander to Grange de la Plume - the cabin admiring a couple of other cabins on the way that are only used as holiday places, Marc is the only farmer that brings his girls (cows) to the hills for their summer vacation. They ...

... Together Each Acheives More, and this has been an amazing journey on our bikes together. Doing these distances in all sorts of weather conditions, its not always easy, you have different energy levels, food needs and pee stops ha haa, but we did this together and I will cherish these memories for the rest of my life, it felt surreal lying on the grass in the beautiful mountain, lake city of Annecy a place we both loved and said we would come ...
