Last day - a bit of a wreck, but I loved it
Well, I've had my last day and I'm packing my bags ready to leave. This week has been a major deviation from my regular running. According to my marathon training plan, I should have done 52 miles on flat or slightly undulating roads around Hertfordshire. A busy "rest day"
... was out in the full sun – there was not much tree cover and it was pretty hot out – about 26 degrees, with only a slight breeze. I was sweating hard and I could see the salt from my sweat drying on my arms by this point. I was also starting to run low on water. Lake
... but with a massive queue, loads of little lane-ways and quite a few canals. In the middle of one canal was what looked like a little castle but was in fact the old jail, but you could not enter !!! There were also a few churches and a massive lake which you could take a ferry ride around, but we didn't have the time for that, so we went back to the car and headed off again.
