The Journey to the Northern Kingdoms
Eagerly, we awaited the train as the morning sun rose over distant forests. The grey clouds settled upon the land and our journey to Hoi An had begun. It felt like our adventure had really started for we had never travelled beyond this point in Vietnam and we still had no idea where we would be going after that. Rumours had reached us of difficulties in China in relation to border crossings and the wise men from unknown Internet kingdoms had spoken of other paths that we must take ...
Going solo!
... was a massive commotion and the pair of us could barely carry our rucksacks let alone work out where we were supposed to be made even harder by all the signs written in Tamil. Turned out we were the wrong end of the platform and in India the train leaves when the driver is ready not when everyone on the platform has got on so we had to run with our huge bags in flip flops down to the other end, in doing so we caused huge entertainment for all the locals! ...
Chennai and croc-ing good time!
... so we did not buy the shells or visit their stalls as we felt it was not right.
Later we went for lunch at another beach which had a mysterious cave with a scull on the outside of it !
We went for a wander down the road and I bought a turtle pendant.
Then we walked down a little further and bought a hammock!
We then went to the crocadile park where there were loads of cool crocs,turtles,tortoises and also ............. ...

I spent my first day in India touring our port city, Chennai, with some friends. We got a late start because customs was really strict and took quite a while.
