      ... hotter than sh&% pools (165 degrees hot) and bars, slides, restaurants...all the touristy cool things. i enjoyed it, but definitely prefer the more low-key local place i went to with la familia. but if you suffer from 'must follow the guide book cuz i'm scared' syndrome, then you may want to check out Baldi.

      Now the hanging bridges, although PACKED with tourists was the coolest hike i've ever taken...and that's saying a lot since ...

      ... of Costa Rican junk food (and some oreos & chex mix) then ate it all in our room. Ian bought THE NASTIEST jelly things. They taste horrible! He also got these gross cakes which also tasted horrible. DON'T go to Ian if you want yummy local sweets. :p Dinner tonight was at the hotel, and it was really good! Tres Leches cake was delishh. And a gecko just came into our room, and we had to get someone to take it out! That was interesting... But, ¡Pura Vida! Haha ...

      ... Cancha Reserve and later on a Santa Maria night tour with our favorite guide, Danilo. Sam and I also accompanied them on the beautiful hanging bridges tour, a fascinating walk up high in the misty cloud forest canopy. Magical. It was so great to spend time with them and hear about their amazing trip. March brought the long anticipated and truly cherished arrival of Dan's parents, Bob and Marianne, or Grandma ...

      ... hostel pool. Temptation was too great not to try the balance beam across the pool. Big mistake. When one leg falls off on one side and the rest of your body goes the other, injuries are sustained. This happened to me three times and then I gave up. No one made it past half way.

      ... balcony and opted to explore the hotel and have a light dinner at the hotel pool bar. Very relaxing.

      We also had to decide on Wednesday's adventure. Our original plan was to do a 1/2 day white water rafting trip. Alex, the excellent hotel desk manager had a better idea...he suggested WaterFall rappelling (aka canyoneering). I had read about this activity on many sites...an exciting, once in a lifetime adventure... but thought it would be too adventurous for us. ...
