Today we visited the UNESCO town of Telc. Pronounced Telch like belch. Un untouched 16th. century town.

Had a limited castle tour as they are filming the movie "Emperor". Barbara auditioned for a solo and got the part!! Only problem, we can't be here for the rest of the filming.

OAT prides themselves on learning and discovery ,experiences and today did not disappoint. Our first stop was a medieval monastery near the town. The Gothic buildings were massive, dating back to the 14th century. While the monks took vows of labor and poverty, their was nothing shabby about their home. Today we got to go into the buildings. Faffing around in a medium sized town

... change your mind! A good view of the overall layout but there’s not enough here for a longer stay.

Went back to the hostel for a snooze and discovered the french bloke from the previous hostel; hopefully this won’t keep happening! Was able to find the nearest supermarket with the satnav so cooked a frozen pizza. Am now comfortably ensconced in the bar downstairs interneting with the Kindle.

the next big beer town in Bohemia, Czech, is Cesky Bud, famous for the original Budwiser beer, located another two hours south of Plzen. We headed back into town and Martin did some reading and I decided to do a tour of the castle, as I didn't feel like I knew enough about the town. It was good, but slightly odd as the guide was Czech and there were Czech people in the group but she did the whole tour in English, good for me, but I'm not sure ...
