We woke up this morning to an eerie fog drowning the whole area. Beckett slept alright, better than the night before but still not great. We got up and packed a bag for the day not really sure what to expect and then headed to breakfast in a small outbuilding next door. More typical Romanian breakfast fare-- meats, cheese, bread and savoury spreads but they made us fresh scrambled eggs when we arrived. The homemade granola was also fantastic according to Ben (I will have to try ...

We arrived at the station in Brasov and were met by our lovely driver Josef. He took the big suitcase, and I cringed as he carried it down a long staircase, but he seemed unaffected by it. A week of what later, in another part of Romania, we find another one: Turda gorge. This one we can only walk through. As it is pentecost, it is also quite full, this time with mountaineers. Next to the gorge there is a small campground, for a well earned meal and a good sleep.

... could drink the water....I passed on that opportunity!

After a quick bus ride and a beautiful hike through the Carpathian woods we reached smelly cave. It was just that, a very very smelly cave full of sulfur! It was good for a quick look but the smell and lack of oxygen was a little overwhelming to be hanging out in there for too long!
