      ... on the bus all the way back as it was full of students. Not one of them offered Papa Robin a seat! Young people are the same the world over I think? Maybe a Chisholm student would have offered? Today the rain has fallen all day. We bused to Spitall and used the wifi at the Schloss Cafe. My laptop would not work properly! Lucky the iPads allowed us to book rail tickets for next week and catchup on mail etc. we also organised a taxi to take us to the station ...

      ... but he had a killer time. Show off! As a reward for his epic time Ryan treated himself to a croissant at breakfast.       ... particularly unhappy about the climb- don't think her travelling lifestyle is corresponding with a lot of exercise.

      We paid the entrance fee and just stood and marvelled at the view- it was incredible- such a beautiful place with such a strange island sitting in the middle.. weirdest thing.

      ... and just 6 miles or so from Italy, we stopped at a great stone fort that was used by the Italians in the 15th century to fight the Ottoman invasion, and then ironically by the Austrians to repel the Italians in the 1st World War. Sheer drop on one side, sheer cliff on the other with ladder rungs affixed to the cliff face (see photo) that allowed soldiers to quickly get to the mountain top, a very dramatic site, full of history.
