South central highlands
... easy riders tour I decided to wander round the town. I opted to walk rather than bicycle as I felt I needed the exercise. The town itself is very pretty with a big french influence (theres even a version of the eiffel tower) and lots of flowers and gardens. I started with a 7km walk around a lake stopping at some flower gardens which took about an hour to walk around. There were lots of sights along the way ...

we got a great deal on a lovely 2 star hotel for only 15 bucks a night the room was great and the hotel staff was fantastic

Hikes, leeches and waterfalls
... the top. I had read that the jeeps don't actually take you to the peak, but to a radio station on a nearby peak which is about 250m lower. I didn't want to get halfway up a mountain, by jeep, so convinced Ciara we should walk. The guy at the gate said about one hours walk to the top. He was a liar. Vietnam countryside
... but in a way it made the days' experiences that little bit more special knowing only we shared it together and our memory will have to be all we have to remember it by. We made it home safe and sound, high five-ing at being alive with sun burnt hands. I'm writing this as we head back through the mountains on our bumpy way to Nha Trang. Karaoke!
... and the parents in the other with a piece of rag tied up for privacy. There is no water or electricity, schools or medical facilities.
The men spend the days hunting for food in the jungle and the woman looking after the children and the land. Its is a very hard existence but like everyone we have encountered in this trip they seem happy, especially the children who run around full of energy and smiles.
Life again is cheap though and ...
